Today let your jaw be dropped by the fascinating story behind Top 50 photographer – ‘s Top 50 shot from #2020.

Title: Happy kid

Location: Sri Lanka

Camera Equipment: Nikon D750 and a nikkor 50mm F1.4

“We stumbled upon this family as we were looking for a nearby temple. We were riding our scooters through these little villages. As we stopped to ask our way, the father of the family grabbed his scooter to show us around and asked us to come to get some food at his place later. Such generous and hospitable people; they had so little but still shared it all.

As I travel a lot, I meet lots of people. Usually, I give adults some money for a portrait. However, with kids, I like to give them balloons. It gives them joy and also doesn’t teach them bad habits. For me seeing, those kids playing with so much joy from something that is so insubstantial gives me a good feeling.”
