Title: Qualifier for the World Championship of Great Waves Punta Galea Challenge 2019

Location: Getxo, Spain

Story

“Brazilian surfer Lucas Chianca got hit by a gigantic wave, about 10 meters high in qualifing round for the World Championship of Great Waves Punta Galea Challenge in 2019. Luckily, the surfer was able to come out unscathed and won the competition!

With this shot I wanted to transmit the force of the ocean, and how small man is when faced with the immensity of nature. On the other hand, the courage of these athletes to face these gigantic waves is also very impressive.”
