Agora’s mission is to potentiate the best point of views from all around the world. To do this, it is important for Humanity to share both the photo and the story behind the making of it.

Today let your hairs be raised by the captivating story behind multiple time Top 50 photographer Mary Bassani’s shot from #Wild2020.

Title: Looking for a big white bear

Location: Hudson bay, Churchill, Canada

Camera equipment: 500mm lens

“I went searching for polar bears during winter 2018, but I didn’t see any because the Hudson bay had frozen and they had already left the coast. When I went back there in 2019, I saw this bear sleeping on the ice lake.

I got out of the car carefully and I stood on the ice with my camera. The ice and the wind were harsh on my face but I couldn’t loose this chance to take a photo so close up. I took multiple different shots and it started to open its eyes, looking at me. I was so excited and a little bit scared too, but we just stared at each other for a while. During that moment it was as if we had a connection as just two both animals out in the wild. Then he closed his eyes and went back to sleep. It was one of the greatest moments of my trip!”
