Ishmael Amuzu-Quaidoo – Our #Red2019 Hero

I discovered AGORA through a model I shot with this year. She encouraged me to try the app and I entered various competitions. AGORA has been the perfect platform to express myself in terms of my art and I believe it can only get better! Thank you so much for this opportunity AGORA!”

The guest judge for this Contest has been AGORA Hero Azim Ronnie

We called upon Azim Khan Ronnie (aka  @azimronnie), our #Work2019 Hero, photographer to lend the Community a hand with choosing the Hero! Find out why he chose this winning photo! 👇

“My name is Azim Khan Ronnie, I was born in Dhaka and brought up in Bogra, Bangladesh. I have been working for a a news channel as a senior Cameraman for over 14 years, it is here where I have gained a lot of my photographic knowledge. After 4 years of hard work and practise I am now also lucky enough to combine this job with being a freelance photographer. My aim as a photographer is to capture unique moments in life and give them significance by making them static in time.”

Guest Judge’s selection criteria: “I chose @kobby-katalist’s because it’s a really striking photo largely due to its color, making it the perfect fit as the winner of #Red2019! Technically speaking the light is very well executed and the separation between the background and subject is perfect. The color red also adds an extra level to the meaning of the photo, being a color usually associated with danger, simultaneously reflecting the situation of women in our society. Bravo Ishmael, excellent photo!”

On behalf of the entire AGORA Team, congratulations to Ishmael for becoming the Hero! 👏🎉

There is a new Hero every week, so don’t forget to check out our previous winners such as the #Water2019 or #Music2019 Heroes.
