Zay Yar Lin – #Portrait2019 Hero!

The guest judge for this Contest has been photographer Sandra Moya

We called upon Sandra Moya (@sandraphoto), last year’s Hero, to lend the Community a hand with choosing her successor!

“My name in Sandra, I am a Graphic Designer who has been learning photography for the last 5 or 6 years. On this beautiful journey I acquired valuable knowledge both in my professional growth, from my experiences and about my approach to photography – not just technically also sentimentally, to love it as a profession and to understand it as my need to communicate and express my language and personal vision of reality. In this search I began to photograph dance, music, concerts, art in various forms and have travelled a lot to meet people and learn about their customs, their work and way of life in society. Over the years I have met so many faces, being one of the reasons I love portrait photography. Each picture tells a story!”

Guest Judge’s selection criteria: “I have chosen @zayyarlin’s photo as the winner for the pure love that it transmits. It’s fabulous edition highlights this feeling given the emphasis it gives to the subject’s features. It really highlights the strength in their hands and their years together. Their expressions are also very natural and organic. Despite being a close-up the photographers presence it almost undetectable. I applaud the way he has manages to capture such an intimate moment, it is a very authentic image with a very sentimental value, congratulations!”
